Project Scientist

Characterising the preterm microbiota, and the effects of probiotics in restoring “normal” microbiota development over time.

My interest in microbiology was cemented back in 2008 while taking part in a placement year within a Clinical Microbiology Laboratory at a local NHS Trust Hospital as a part of my undergraduate degree, BSc Biomedical Science from the University of Essex. Since graduating, I have worked in a variety of laboratories undertaking specialist microbiology reference and research work before joining the Hall laboratory in March 2018 as a Project Scientist.

In collaboration with the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, my work will involve looking at how probiotics can promote and restore a ‘healthy’ microbiota in premature infants.
