PhD Student

My project will look at the gut microbiota and breast cancer.

I came to Norwich to do my BSc in Biomedicine at UEA. After this I developed an interest in immunology. I pursued a MSc in Immunology of Infectious diseases at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. I have always been interested in the gut microbiota, and this was further solidified after learning how the microbiota can modulate the immune system in several pathologies.

This led to joining the Hall lab in 2019 as a PhD student where I will be looking into the gut microbiota and breast cancer. I am very excited to be part of this Big-C funded project, joint between Dr. Lindsay Hall and Dr. Stephen Robinson. My project will look at how the gut microbiota of breast cancer patients change during their treatment schedules and how this can affect tumorigenesis. The outcome of this project may aid in developing approaches that can improve outcomes and treatment responses.
